To the north, Carcassonne with its famous walled city, the airport and Canal du Midi is approximately 35 minutes away.  Approximately 1 ½ hours away to the south, are the Pyrenees with wonderful walks in the summer and skiing in the winter.  To the east, the coast at Narbonne is about 1 ¼ hours away, with the Spanish border another 1 hour further on.  To the west is the City of Toulouse.  The scenery in this area is wonderful and varied and is great for walkers and those wishing to explore the local history by visiting the Cathar castles.
